Episode 1: Original SongAlong with the announcement of the second season, FOX aired a clip from "Original Song" on November 30, 2009. In this episode the Glee kids get together to perform at Regionals which is led by Dalton Academy Warblers. But Coach Beiste tells them they have to do a song that's never been done in Regionals before in order for them to advance in the competition. The Glee Club does an acapella version of "Silly Love Songs" and needs some backup singers for their performance so they gather together all of their friends including New Directions and try out for Curtain Call, but due to Ryder's indiscretion, they are eliminated. But after New Directions hears about this they get together to perform an acapella version of "I'll Stand By You" via the hallway. All the other competitors in Curtain Call join in in their performance so they can advance to Regionals in which they do in this episode.Episode 2: AcafellasRachel decides that since New Directions' chances of winning are slim, she wants to do something different with her last year in high school. So she gathers up all the unpopular kids in school and starts her own singing group called Acafellas. But they have to try to find a song worthy of their talents, so Will suggests that they perform "Songbird" by Fleetwood Mac. When Will hears that Rachel wants to be the lead singer he gets upset because he thinks she would do better by being in New Directions. But at Regionals, Finn tells Will that she wants to be the lead singer on her own and on her own terms. So they go on stage and sing "Songbird" on their own and for some reason the crowd loves it so much so they win Nationals! Episode 3: SectionalsIn this episode all of New Directions' competitors try out for New Directions because none of them got into the school's glee club. So Will introduces them to an old school teacher of his who is able to make all the kids in the glee club get along. But when it comes time for Regionals, Will has to split New Directions into two groups to go up against Vocal Adrenaline because none of the kids are getting along. He splits them into two groups that consist of New Directions boys versus New Directions girls. Kurt tells Rachel that she shouldn't have told William that she wanted it to be her last year in glee because he doesn't want her to leave. So Rachel gives her spot in Vocal Adrenaline's performance of "Candyman" so Kurt can take over the lead role.
